Anima Women’s Bookclub!

A bookclub has been on our mind for a little while here at Anima, so when people were starting to look into reading (or rereading) Pope Benedict’s vast written legacy, we thought it was a great opportunity to begin. It was even more fortuitous when we realised that Emily Stimpson Chapman had decided something similar. So, we thought we would invite you to read Benedict XVI’s first encyclical, Deus Caritas Est with us and use the wonderful reflections and questions of Emily as our starting point.

The group will be limited in number to let the participants get the most out of the sessions. It will be run online weekly, hosted by Anne Maree Quinn and start on Tuesday 14th Feb at 8pm. It won’t be overly taxing to read as Emily has broken it down into small sections. Anne Maree will send out the reflection and questions on the Friday before hand.Β

Sections 1-4 is the reading for the first night. You can find a copy of the encyclical here

I would love to join in if it is not too late – I am not the intellectual giant that most of the Anima women are, but I will do the reading.
